push, push, push, just keep on pushing
Just try to push it away
Wake up, wake up, wake up
I'll try not to be too poisonous to you, too poisonous to you
I'll restore your hearing
I'll restore your sight
Just pick up what was left of you and rise, rise!
push, push, push, just
You're about to take off
Like you're just a bird in the sky
or a fish in the sea
Up in the sky, all you see is nothing
the stars in the sky of the moon at night
while you sleep in bed
and baby animals coming out
and babies about to be reborn
They're not like little dolls that come out
They're like live things that come out
Skin and bones and muscles, veins, nerves...
Everything that comes out from ya'
Take the extra path, the extra path
of the bearings that you had to have
as your bones on ya'
push, push, push, just keep on pushing
JPJ truthin'

This was the first track Todd and Janet cut for The New Technique project. Todd offered no prompting, just the brooding synths and cellos that brought Janet to a very heavy place indeed. Todd thinks she was speaking of her late father, who passed in 1993, envisioning his resurrection in a conflation of her Dad and Christ. Heavy, to say the least.
