Evil wants my soul
I must not lose control... ever
There's a darkness inside my soul
Where evil seeks to take hold
I must not lose my control
Control
Like demons, devils, ghosts, red devils, goblins, war, crimes and the evilness that's inside of people
Like money, they always have the greed of money
It's like being in a hole somewhere
and you can't get out
and you're really caged up
lying a lot, telling stories, swear words, like a stubborn mouth
Getting in trouble with your parents
Bad behaviors are like what I do
Like, not appropriate stuff-
Flirting with men,
Talk about women parts in front of people who are men (chuckle)
Just to show the side of anger…
And a lot of times I hug other women
Not because I’m a lesbian, but because I miss that part of my Mom
JPJ truthin'
Scott Warren bass

Like all of us, Janet is endowed with hopes, dreams and fears. This song features the fears and her continual reminders to herself that rejecting negative impulses is an important part of being a caring human. The eerie sounds of the choir reinforce this message. Then, it concludes with a ripping rock outro featuring Chris Russell on drums (tracked at Hondo Creek by Mike Nicholson), Todd on guitar and bass and the amazing Emma Davis on lead vocals.
